What is Kybella?

Kybella is an FDA approved injectable treatment for submental fullness, or double chin. Kybella is deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring substance in our bodies that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. It is not approved for fat reduction in other areas.

A physical exam of the treatment area will be performed to ensure the best treatment pattern. After a consultation and discussion of the risks and benefits, a grid patterned temporary marking is placed in the treatment area to ensure evenly spaced injections. A series of injections in the area of submental fullness are administered by one of our medical professionals.

Topical or injectable numbing is available to reduce discomfort. The injection process takes 20-30 minutes.

Benefits?
How long do results last?

Benefits are the permanent reduction of submental fullness, or double chin. The results are a slimmer and more aesthetically pleasing jawline. Once the fat cells are treated, they are destroyed and cannot accumulate fat any longer. Once you reach your desired result, further/future treatments are not expected. The number of treatments and injections that are needed is different for every person, but we expect people to need 3-6 treatments.

We can accompany submental fullness treatment with the truSculpt system by Cutera. This is a heat lipolysis body contouring device and has a special handpiece for treatment of fat under the chin.
