To start your chemical peel experience, we start with triple cleansing the skin. This ensures there is no oil or debris on the skin interfering with the peel adequately penetrating the skin. Applying the peel itself can feel like a mild to moderate burning/tingling sensation. Gauze saturated with the peel solution is passed over the treatment area 2-3 times to achieve an adequate treatment. Some peels require neutralizing with water or sodium bicarbonate, others are self neutralizing. We cannot use numbing cream for this treatment as patient feedback is essential to achieving an excellent result.
